Yeah, that makes sense. I wound up using cash for the 266€ option via AF, charged to my BofA AFKL card. Annoyed because I didn't realize I could change currency for the payment and I was charged $291 instead of the published $276, but I'll know better next time (I switch the website currency to € for environmental purchases to get an exact sense of the XP gain).

Yep, I knew this (and it makes sense that it's so, just like with reward tickets) but frankly XPs matter to me a lot more than miles.
