​​​​​​​Fares are not constructed based on the distance/region. SEA is a competitive market, WAW is not a Skyteam hub airport. Try fly between LAX and AMS/CDG in business with AF/DL/KL, and see what kind of fare you can get.
That said, $4K is NOT cheap, but reasonable fare for the city pair where carriers are being competitive in to get business.
