Why are LHR-JFK flight numbers not in a continuous sequence
Sitting waiting to board the BA172 JFK-LHR. Wondering why the JFK-LHR flight numbers have always (as far as I can remember) been split between the 112/114/116 and the 172/174/178/182 range…?

Anyone shed any historical light?
