(again if they are Qatar cancelations, the odds of flying with a non-standard interior are quite high as you cannot just make 1000 DL suites and 1500 PS seats appear from thin air)
Like the LATAM ones? I mean, these new 1000's have been mothballed since at least last year... Airbus can't be happy about unearned revenue.

Couple things here. First, Delta hates Qatar and could have stepped in the middle (that is, between Qatar deliveries) to get planes based on current/recent relationship w/ Airbus (which has been good - A350, A321, A320neo, A321neo, A330-900, etc.).

Second, Delta is looking to use A350's for newer routes - see AKL and possibly Sydney, Singapore, etc. - which could benefit from 1000 series (more raw butts in seats, or maybe more D1 / PS based on how profitable they are).

Doesn't the manufacturer (Airbus) announce the orders?
Seems like a missed opportunity at the Paris Air Show, unless this is kind of shady - see Qatar chatter, of which I unfortunately poked the bear.
