For a one-off route, I agree. It doesn't fit into the concept of having a footprint limited by the capability of the B737. The original question I responded to was about expanding routes to SJU and AUA. Both would need the range of the A321neo, which AS has in their fleet. AS clearly isn't interested in going much further than NAS. If AS really wanted the A321neo subfleet, they could have also had to commit to int'l routes they've never flown. Different summer and winter routes, subfleet maintenance costs, subfleet crews needing to be based in different places depending on the season. These all add up to make it a non-starter for AS. So while I understand and agree your comment, please understand mine was really just a bit of sarcasm.
