Thanks! I don't think my intention is to book a speculative award ticket on a date where have no intention of travelling. My intention was to book an award ticket for the March date that's available now, one-way. I have all intentions to travel on that date. So I can simply lock in the one-way. Booking a return ticket now with miles seems non-sensible given the extreme high return prices from TX to NL in April and May 2024.

The key question is more: are there any downsides in terms of fees/charges when booking 2x one way awards instead of booking a return?
