I’m flying LX F from North America-ZRH soon, which arrives in the morning, and I have an onward intra European flight with LX in J that leaves in the late afternoon. My flight to ZRH is a round trip booking on SWISS to Geneva, but the segment from Zurich to Geneva is in train, though I have no intention of taking the train to Geneva, and my intra european flight was booked separately from the longhaul portion. I know I’m going to have to exit the airport area, wait for my checked bag, and do another separate check in at ZRH, because I don’t want to risk telling LX at checkin for my longhaul flight that I’m not taking the connecting train. I want to make the most of my time at the LX F lounges, especially at E gates. I was thinking of staying in Terminal E and bypassing the welcome service, staying at FCL E until mid afternoon, then going to Schengen area to pick up my baggage, and recheck in. Does anybody know if LX would do a transfer from E lounge to A FCL whenever I decide to go back, or would I have to take Heidi train and pass through regular immigration? Is there a way I can let LX know that I’m staying in the lounge so they can put aside my checked bag? Alternatively, would it be better for me to take the Welcome service transfer to A gates on arrival, pick up my checked bag and check in for my next flight, then go to A FCL and request transfer to E? Would this raise any questions by FCL staff as to how I’m still landside if they think I have no onward flight? In the second scenario, is it possible for me to just show up at an FCL and show my arriving boarding pass and be granted access, without them seeing my ongoing flight. All of this is presuming I’m allowed entry to the FCL with an arriving F boarding pass, which I think is true based off Swiss’ website. I may be overthinking this, but I just want to make sure that I’ll be able to access the FCL, especially E FCL, during my layover. Thank you very much.
Your big problem here is that if you skip the segment ZRH-GVA on the train they could cancel your return ticket, not sure if LX will see if you took the train or not…..
Other than that you could just go to FCLE, your inbound FBP gets you access & just ask them to keep your bag, they will call the baggage team & you recover it from the baggage office in the baggage reclaim hall.
There is no transfer service from FCLE to the main terminal, you need to take the heidi train.
