Just as a follow-up. I honestly think this disaster is related to the ridiculous lifetime employment policies in Spain. No one can get rid of useless employees easily there and it shows. They should’ve farmed their entire IT department out to India. Ok… enough editorializing about that.
The IT idiots there could never get my account right and I finally called BA and explained the issue and they basically said, “That’s not the first time we’ve heard this.” They were able to move my Iberia Avios to BA. I store them and I use them mostly on Qatar which is fantastic. They transfer very easily between BA and Qatar. No more Avios trapped in Iberia. I’d recommend that you move everything out of the Iberia system.
