I monitor my bookings and from experience the email comes quickly. But I've not had a QSuite swap since February 2022 so they might have changed policy.
Previously if you hadn't had the email they could ask the back office to check if the swap had happened. Not sure if they still do that though.
This happened to me in March 2023 - the email came about a month prior to the flight, with 4 of 4 legs being switched from Qsuites to non-Qsuites and the option to change dates or destination nearby our original destination. We had no flexibility in our dates so we kept our booking and accepted the A350-900 business class flight from BOS-DOH and the dreaded 2-2-2 configuration from DOH-DEL. They switched the two return legs to Qsuites without an email/notification, which was a pleasant surprise.
