i don't know about clearing up any comments. The area around the hotel is not nice. Right across the street we we accosted and threatened and then followed right to the hotel entrance. There is no way I would allow my sig other to walk outside alone. Further, there is no way I would do so at night. Yes, some of downtown has very cute old style streets but it is dirty and less than safe. Now, that said, many large cities have streets like this and it could happen anywhere. But after traveling to over 700 cities in my lifetime, I'm saying this one is not one of the safest areas around a major hotel. Ya know, just to clear up some comments.
