It wasn’t sports equipment. It was a normal suitcase. I have an email from the CK rep that they are looking into and will get right back to me after they investigate.
Update: They are issuing a refund and I got two email apologies from the premium services team. I wish they would do some additional training on this topic for outstation desk agents. This wasn't a sleepy outstation (ECP) and I am sure they get tons of bags over 50 pounds from AAdvantage members because so many families are travelling there.
