You cannot select seats within this block by calling VN; you can only select your seat from within the reserved AF blocks when OLCI opens.

thanks for this insight! Im in the same situation. When OLCI opens, are you able to select the seat from AF website or do you still have to get the vietnam airlines PNR and select the seat on VN website?
