The search engine online if I were to key in tsa as origin and sfo as destination doesn't show availability while when searching each segment, they are available. When I call, some agents can book it by segment, while others asks me to book them as separate tickets. Those who can seem to go through a manual process to calculate mileage and taxes.
I've managed to have Tsuen Wan price TSA-HND-SFO in JL J for 20 June 2024: 75,000 miles and HK$759 taxes. Done by hand, doesn't show up as a through connection on cathaypacific.com. I'm not sure if the taxes are done properly, but the miles appear to be correct (70,000 would be the stand-alone for HND-SFO).
This one does not appear to be a star-crossed connection (similar to
Incorrect Response from a Marco Polo agent ) and it appears doable over the phone.
