Hi, I'm hoping to find somebody who flew to Canada on AC recently with Canadian Permanent Resident status and a passport which would normally require a visa.

Were/are you able to do online check-in and get a boarding pass using the PR Card # and your foreign passport?

Or does the AC website tell you to see an agent at the counter for a document check?

I'm booking tickets for a friend with Canadian PR status to fly from Turkey to Canada via Denmark with separate tickets for Turkey->Denmark and Denmark->Canada.
This person does not have a Schengen visa and will not have any checked bags.

I'm concerned that without a boarding pass for Denmark->Canada the passenger could be denied boarding in Turkey. I've seen this happen before, not in Denmark but flying TK Istanbul->Munich->Mexico... Turkish Airlines said that without the boarding pass for the connecting flight they will need to cross the border in Munich to get to the check-in counters to get a boarding pass, and because the person had no Schengen visa that wasnt possible and they were denied boarding. Turkish Airlines said if the passenger had the boarding pass for the next flight then they would have let her board.

So I want to be sure that the passenger can do online check-in and get a boarding pass before going to the airport in Turkey.

I would call AC to ask but I dont trust the competence of their call center, and would prefer to know if somebody with PR was able to do online check-in or got a message to go to the counter at the airport.
