A usual "Schedule Change Saturday" check of my flights from LAX-JFK-CPH yielded an unusual surprise this past weekend. A big thanks to the folks on this forum for the years of insight and information that made it possible.

Long story short, my myself and Mrs Hepsaint will be returning to Scandinavia this September and we booked our tix in May, a good 4 months before our travel date thinking the fares were reasonable. I've often seen on this forum that booking over 3 months for international travel can be dicey since the schedules almost always change. Sure enough not only did the departure times adjust, but the price of the fares also dropped (facepalm) .

I simmered in my unhappiness with the fare drop a few days and continued with checking the seats in case there was also an equipment change. To my surprise this weekend, i noticed the expected "Schedule Change" message on the Delta app and noted that the outgoing flight had changed by 5 minutes. A quick check of the available flights showed an earlier flight to JFK and checked the seating availability. The 5 minute time change really would have not affected out transfer time to CPH, but changed the flight just in case.

To my surprise, as I was updating the info/flight information, the confirmation advised of a price difference in the fares and i prepared for the worst. But in this case, the fare was cheaper than what I had initially paid and the eCredits immediately popped up after confirmation.

This was Good learning experience for me and hopefully a helpful good tip for newer forum members here to use in the future when booking international over 90 days in advance... Thank you again Delta FlyerTalk contributors and Mods!
