Eh, for my first Hyatt in a while, this one was...fine, I guess - though, it gets better when you consider the price (relative to other HK hotels). Still, they obviously aren't interested in providing decent upgrades, etc. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

Note: I arrived at 9 PM and left around Noon, so I missed the lounge (as it doesn't open until Noon and was already closed at night, I believe) - I also wasn't informed in person about any benefits (though, it was mentioned in the pre-arrival email).

Pros:
  • The design is decent - though cracks upon closer look - still, though, light woods and marble are a good combo
  • The bed was decent - mattress firm / just-right-ish, pillows were plush, covers were fine - not paper thin - HK is humid, so you don't need down blankets
  • Shower pressure was great - I used the rainfall head
  • They offered 4 PM late checkout proactively
Neutral:
  • Breakfast is fine - though, you can tell there are some quality issues - I ate around 6:50 AM, and it seemed like much of the food had been sitting old
    • Somehow, my salmon eggs benedict from the chef was cold - not sure if the griddle for the bun wasn't hot enough - it did taste good, though
    • Hashbrowns tasty but cold
    • Ham and cheese omelet was actually quite good
    • Pancakes were decent
    • Waffles were not very good
    • Bread pudding wasn't bad
    • Paratha was really not so good
    • The fried egg was so not good - seemed like it had been made quite a while ago
    • There's no real service - you get everything for yourself
  • Delivered a plate of fruit - didn't eat any of it - not a big fan of random fruit - also odd that someone came at like 9:30 PM to deliver it - they oddly kind of barged in past me in the small hallway space after I opened the door - might have been a language barrier
Cons:
  • No real passion in upgrades - they emailed me before arrival for my arrival time, and I told them my flight landed at 8 PM (they knew when I was coming) - I saw the morning of arrival a move to a Harbour View High Floor while there were still corner or Deluxe room types for sale - they knew I was coming in late and could benefit from Housekeeping cleaning up late checkout guests - still, I guess they decided to focus on upselling upgrades to earlier arrivals (total guess)? - at check-in, they said I was in a standard King - I asked about upgrades, and they said I had a full Harbour View - seemed more like a view of the East Tower to me - looking at the building, I think the other tower and the other side of my tower would have had better views (the other side of the West Tower has angled windows and looks out towards Kowloon)
  • Towel and bed linen stain control could be improved
  • Room is tiny - no drawers to store anything
  • Couch by window had a massive amount of wear-and-tear on the leather edges
  • No Internet streaming capabilities on the TV
I wouldn't jump at returning - maybe, the lounge is good, but still...guess I'm just glad to be in Hong Kong.
