What I don't understand is why service on Delta connection flights is so much better than on Delta mainline. Obviously Delta's mainline aircraft have great bells and whistles like the AVOD systems that the RJs don't have, but there is a stark difference in the quality of service. It all comes down to attitude. And, sadly, Delta's mainline management is not demanding that attitude of its FAs.
I don't know why either, though this seems to be the case amongst the US 3, likely because often it's the same two carriers operating the flights (Skywest and Republic) regardless of marketing carrier.
I used to think it was because a lot of the regional carrier FAs are newer and haven't worked that long-- but there are so many new hires these days at the US 3 as well.
