My Chase United MP Club clearly covers $10,000 each.
terms state:

The maximum benefit amount for Trip Cancellation Insurance is $10,000 per Covered Trip and $20,000 per Eligible Card per 12 consecutive month period.

The maximum benefit amount for Trip Interruption Insurance is $10,000 per Covered Trip and $20,000 per Eligible Card per 12 consecutive month period.
[bolding mine]. I’ll admit to not having tested this out, but sounds like the terms list per trip, not per person. You could always try submitting everything if you have a claim and see what they pay out, but I highly suspect the max is 10K, total.

as a comparison, I don’t have the UA club card, but my CSR (which I suspect has same or very similar terms to the UA Club card) does specify per person per trip. So it seems like the Chase coverage is indeed better.

Sometimes, more or more valuable points are only a part of the equation of which to choose a card to spend on. Honestly, I realize this is potentially debatable, but I find the Chase insurance is better in general - both in terms of being eligible for coverage and having better coverage once triggered. So even on airfare, where plat earns 5x and CSR is 3x, Im mostly using my CSR, except in cases where I can’t or where I’m less likely to need the more extensive coverage (example: recently booked a trip including domestic segments within India on Indigo, and the only US-based card they seem to be able to charge is my Amex, so used it on those flights, plus the other flights involving that trip to trigger coverage).
