Matters did not bode well as we had to from a B gate on a bus all around Heathrow to climb a load of stairs aboard. We were greeted by the IFL and one of the crew members, both gentlemen sporting earrings. I’m old fashioned and it went across the grain. Never again will I be surprised and teaches me that you should not judge a book by the picture on the cover. Lesson learned. The crew were out with the Champagne swiftly and I have no idea and care less whether they were offering water sparkling or otherwise. After a schlep through Heathrow and the bus, the Champagne hit the mark. Menus were offered and orders taken before take off. The crew were pro-active, charming, and totally focused on pleasing the passenger. We were looked after by the IFL himself. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone with whom I had contact was friendly and approachable. Maybe we just were particularly
lucky but the crew were excellent.

Less excellent was the wait for tug to get us off stand. Why BA cannot get their act together when everyone is on board on time, completely defeats me

The Cauliflower Soup is delicious. The other item was so good that it has gone from my memory!

Beef Cheeks are ever abundant. I adore them and this was so tasty. I love fish but I find that it is overcooked and dry. I’ve gone with French undercooking but that is just me

I cannot resist cheese. The IFL offered me both. The cheese was a bit under-ripe (Pucci being picky) and whilst I liked the crumble , it had a bit too much cinnamon for my taste. Just me.
I should point out that the drinks flowed and flowed. They seemed to have plenty of Champagne and the Portuguese red wine was excellent as well

The light meal was most pleasant.

My husband adores Cottage Pie and scoffed half mine as I was quite full!
