I am at the Kimpton now, and have been wowed so far!
I booked on points during one of the promos in August last year (for 45k points per night)
I saw a room upgrade to a suite on my account a few days ago.and was happy to see that it was maintained even though the hotel has been sold out for a while (I am diamond Ambassador). On the day of arrival I also received the welcome gift of points.
Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by a very welcoming front desk staff member, who was prompt to check us in and give us just the right level of information for our stay.
They confirmed that I could get breakfast as my welcome gift (they did also offer points, that I had already received...).
We mentioned the secret password and were given 2 raid the bar vouchers (10€ each), they had a positive response when we said it ("Ah! I think I heard something interesting!"), valid at the bar but not the rooftop.
The suite is good, I think that it is the smallest suite category that they have, with a hallway between the living area and the bedroom (no door), and it is a corner room with windows on 3 sides. The quality of everything is great.
It was a bit cold with the aircon (to compensate for the 35°C outside I assume!), but there are clear instructions on how the aircon works (which is a rarity!) so was able to bring it up a bit really easily.
The room really is faultless!
There was a welcome gift waiting for me in the room: a bottle of rosé wine on ice, some snacks and a nice Kimpton tote bag.
To add to the positives, we got home for dinner, turned the TV on a random channel to have something to watch whilst I have a glass of the wine, and see Elton John live in Glastonbury. I am in town for his concert later this week, so it was a nice coincidence!
I look forward to trying out the breakfast tomorrow.
