I find a lot of crew, regardless of experience, currently get confused about the separate drink in CW due to the post 2130 departure standards for other cabins (i.e. WTP and WT is a combined meal and drinks service with no separate drinks round ). They just see post 2130 departure and automatically default to the combined service standards.

As pointed out above, the correct standard is separate drink round for those wishing to have full experience.
Now I understand better why on my last LAX-LHR flight (early May), with scheduled departure at 20:50 but delayed until after 22, the pre-dinner drink service was completely skipped by the crew.
