Applied 3/31, preliminary approved 5/15. Completed registration today 6/25 at HND. No queue at immigration office in check-in hall on a Sunday afternoon. Process took about 20 mins. There were two officers working there, one of whom seemed more familiar with TTP process so appeared to be guiding/training the other one. Got a stamp in passport saying "automated gate user until x/x/x, exempt from entry stamps".
Bought the revenue stamps at a Family Mart in Tokyo before going to the airport. What a bizarre process: they make you sign a form (image attached) then they glue the stamps onto it. Why does this exist in 2023?
