This itinerary would then seem to meet the definition of a round-trip. The remaining issue is whether using the card to pay taxes and fees on award tickets qualifies. The wording in the terms is unclear.
Thank you. I am going to use my Chase Ritz card to cover the airline fees and taxes for this trip. Nobody expects IRROPS, but it is nice to know you are covered if it does happen.
