EXP - Bag Benefits for Companions Verification (3 Bags and 70 Pounds for Companions)
I searched AA's site, but I can't completely and confidently confirm that if I buy a flight with my wife and son (no status, wife has AA Exec card) on the same PNR, that all three of us will be able to check 3 bags and we will all have the increased weight limit of 70 pounds. I don't want to be shocked when someone says they can only get the normal 2 bags and 50 pound limit.
I've never had to use this benefit as typically we only check 3 bags amongst all three of us and we may only have 1 bag over 50 pounds. This happens when we go skiing. Long story short, we're planning a ski trip for January and our friends that are going with us have no status (family of 4 with full gear), they have the United Card so they usually fly United to check their ski bags, however, the AA flights are notably cheaper, but by time they add 4 normal weight and 1 overweight bag, it gets expensive. Before I offer to have them join our flight and I'll check both families' bags, I wanted to verify that if I buy three tickets on a PNR, that I will be able to check 6-8 bags amongst my three with the possibility of 2-3 bags being slightly over 50 pounds.
As stated, I believe they inherit all my bag benefits, meaning 9 bags < 70#s.
Thanks for the confirmation
