The options were described by the crew as smoked salmon or carrot salad; the former was the winner. I don't mind that BA have done away with the starter salad on Band 1 routes, when the main course option is always a salad in any case. The usually slushy desserts have got slightly bigger as a result, presented in china bowls instead of plastic pots, although it would be nice if they were a bit more substantial. It's a shame that the warm bread from the basket is no longer a choice of different types.
