Club Lounge of Crowne Plaza Bangkok

How is the exec. lounge?
Located on the 31 floor, the lounge features a glass roof. This gives the lounge a quite airy and bright appearance. It is also very modern. Two computer terminals are opposite the lounge reception. The main part of the lounge consists of chairs and tables. There a second part with sofas and lounge chairs.

In the morning breakfast is served. The variety of food is smaller than downstairs, but available are fresh fruit, cereals, and hot items. Eggs dished and Thai breakfast dishes could be ordered and brought from the main restaurant. Tee, coffee and juices are served by staff. It is a quieter affair and if you are not that hungry, it is okay.

In the afternoon (14:00 to 16:00) afternoon tea is served with sandwiches, small cakes and pastries, during the weekend also hot items were available like small quiches, scones and clotted cream and strawberry jam.

In the evening (17:30 to 19:30) small bites and canapes are served (both cold and warm) along with cheese, salami and also small cakes and petit fours (from afternoon tea). Acolholic beverage is available as well, along sparkling wine, red and white wine and spirits. The variety could have been a bit better (maybe two white and two red), but it was okay. The sparking was to sweet for my taste.

The times are not set, they vary. So evening service was available from 17:00 and afternoon tea prior to 14:00. It was not extended, though the petit fours from the afternoon tea remained on the buffet till the end of the evening reception.

The options vary daily, and I did not experience the same dishes during my five days there. However, it is more canapes. If you are not particularly hungry, it is sufficient. But you might not consider it as a full meal.

Beverage in the lounge is not self-service, you are served by staff, which to me is okay. I consider the staff attentive. They remember what you have had and ask the next day if you like the same beverage as well.

The lounge was never really busy, e.g. like in the Hilton properties in Bangkok. In so far I enjoyed the more relaxed ambiance in the lounge. However, there are not many outlets to plug in your gadgets.

The CP offers full lounge benefits, not only access.

The IHG Regional Manger for Bangkok and GM of the CP (Kate Gerits) visited the lounge and approached some guests including me and asked about feedback and we chatted about the Bangkok hotels.
