Even looking at other routing, there's at most 1-2 seats for 70k. Wouldn't mind doing a stopover in BCN, WAW (family) or somewhere else interesting but keep seeing only 2 open J seats. Looked at doing YYZ-FCO(stopover)-ATH but 1) haven't seen any Aegean seats on FCO-ATH so it tries to route me via MUC or IST and the leg ends up taking 3x as long, and 2) fees go from $66 to $173 + 5k points, and you can pretty much get a direct cash fare with more flexibility. Thoughts?
Such is life with dynamic pricing, unfortunately...
The option through FCO is reasonably priced. Fly there, book a cheap cash fare to ATH?
Or if you have other points currencies, use those for a short one way hop?
