For Uber/Ubereats, the same app works across different territories. Same with Grab in Southeast Asia - which I've had success with the same app working in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Philippines with an Australian credit card.
Yeah, I've been resisting those myself. I'd personally prefer to order and have it ready when I get there if possible. The other thing is that those apps all take a large chunk out of those prices and I'd like to see those places hang around. I use the apps here but only for the quickserve places as I'm sure the ones I frequent are making money (and sometimes I'll order extra onsite if I see something interesting)
But in this case it isn't me. It's my teammate. So it's all good.
