Was on KL601 today (AMS-LAX). Didn't know it was a launch and was very upset they swapped out the 787 for the 777. Upset because I was booked in an aisle in PC on the 787 but this morning with no communication they swapped it for the 777 with the new configuration and assigned me a MIDDLE seat. I didn't realize this until I boarded (desk agent-printed BP at passport check showed the new seat but I never scrutinized the BP for this). The 787 is 4 rows 2-3-2 while the 777 is 3 rows 2-4-2 so the latter has more middle seats.

The PC seats themselves seemed the same as the 787, although my seat neighbors said the 777's were thinner. I can't say for sure.

Outside of the seats, the 777 had no noticeable updating. The center overhead bins still can't hold regulation-limit rollers side-by-side.
