Hope it's ok jumping into this thread with my Star Alliance RTW question(s)?
I've booked RTW using the Star Alliance, my first flight going West from Europe with United. The T&C on the Star Alliance website state that this Economy RTW fare gives me one check-in bag throughout, implying each flight.
However,I then read the following in the voucher sent me:
Transport
Washington Dulles Intl - Newark Liberty Intl
United Airline UA 2398
Departure: 5:45 PM | Washington Dulles Intl (Alternative airport) Arrival: 7:22 PM | Newark Liberty Intl
Cabin Class: ECONOMY
Baggage information: 0PC Per person
This is one of four such examples, all United, and which contradicts.
It has been suggested that this is just UA bots splurging out wrong information and that I should trust the T&C. But I don't want hassle when turning up at check-in with that voucher and having to the argue what is said in the T&Cs.
(The first transatlantic flight with UA and the other flights inward from the US do specify checked baggage.)
I might be worrying for nothing, especially having applied for a matching status, I'm told "You've been awarded a 120-day trial period of MileagePlus® Premier® Silver status ... To maintain this status through the rest of the year, simply fly 4 Premier qualifying flights (PQF) and earn 1300 Premier qualifying points (PQP) on our United® or UnitedExpress® flights between ..."
What I hope this means is that I will be completing these RTW flights as Silver, thereby having a free checked bag (?), and that the five United flights (inc one transatlantic) will retain that status into 2024.
As an aside, I have looked on my UA app for that booking of that first UA flight from Europe but I cannot see it.
