I used PMW on a recent PH Tokyo visit with Points + CAT7 and tried to use SUA through MHC and this is the email I received back:

"Hi Flyertalk User SawBo,
I hope this email finds you well.
I will not be able to use as suite upgrade award on your upcoming stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo because you are using a free night award and suite upgrade awards can not be used at the same time. I have requested an upgrade from the hotel for this reservation though.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Have a Great Week!"
