I agree with the other replies; it’s NOT supposed to happen for any award stay (FNA or points) regardless of reservation verbiage, it does occur occasionally for both Hilton and Hyatt (2-3 times for me over 20-25 award stays), don’t count on it happening again, don’t discuss it with anyone at Hilton or Hyatt, don’t expect to understand when or how or why, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth .
