Food and beverage is better on LH. You get Polaris lounge access if departing US on LH flight in J (only at departure city; not returning to US). 748 is indeed fun - can book upper deck - all seats have seat mates, though, with narrow footwells. Look for the 787s as they have 1-2-1 product and also on some A359s (these have flown to DTW, EWR, YUL, BOM, etc. recently).
