Booking A (Cash Latitude): Jun 22 BER-FRA-YUL-YOW / Aug 6 YOW-YYZ-FRA-BER
Booking B (AP Business Lowest): Jun 23 YOW-YYZ-MEX / Jun 29 MEX-YUL-YYC

I'm currently sitting aboard AC847 FRA-YUL from Booking A and it is running late, putting my connection to AC8017 YUL-YOW in jeopardy. AC8017 is the last flight to YOW tonight, and even VIA doesn't have any trains running at that point. If I miss AC8017, I won't be able to make it to YOW tonight and will thus miss my AC439 YOW-YYZ and AC991 YYZ-MEX flights tomorrow on Booking B.

I know that since these are 2 separate bookings, Air Canada has no obligation to reaccommodate me so I can still make it to MEX as planned tomorrow. Nevertheless, since this issue only exists because of AC847's delay, I emailed Concierge from the air with two questions / requests:

1. Would it be possible to hold AC8017 by a few minutes. If AC847 doesn't arrive much later than the currently planned 20:27, I should be able to make it to AC8017, which is scheduled to depart at 21:30.
2. If I miss AC8017, would it be possible to be rerouted on AC7773 YUL-YYZ tomorrow morning, so I skip the YOW stopover and just go directly to YYZ, thereby enabling me to catch AC991 YYZ-MEX as originally planned. I know the separate bookings with yet-to-be-flown return legs probably complicates all this a lot.

Concierge's response was: If I miss AC8017, I'll have to find my own way back to YOW tonight (they suggested driving). They did not directly address my request to hold the flight or be rerouted via YYZ.
Pretty sure indeed that the YUL concierge would be able to pull the two coupons YUL-YOW and YOW-YYZ and exchange them for a YUL-YYZ one.

Not too long ago, we were booked to fly to YYZ via YUL and BOS on two separate tickets, one YYC-BOS via YUL with an overnight, and back later via YYZ, and a BOS-YYZ round trip. Plan being to first visit our daughter in Toronto, then to visit our son in Boston, and finally go back home in Calgary. Concierge did rebook us direct to YYZ, skipping BOS. (That the next morning the YUL-YYZ leg had disappeared, she had to redo the thnig, and that in the process my wife ended up in Y on that leg is another story. Presumably the system identifying two conflicting reservations?)
