This is so true. I went through DFW immigration's Global Entry last week and noticed that my friend who went through a regular visitor's visa queue was subjected to a similar process. Just his face was scanned and he was sent on his way. So what have I gained by sharing all my PII?
The process may be similar but the lines in the regular queue are much longer. My wife & kid's applications are still pending so when we landed in JFK earlier this month, I went through Global Entry while they had to get into the regular line. I was through in 2 minutes & it took them over half an hour.
Also, with Global Entry you also get TSA Pre Check, which I value greatly when traveling domestically in the US.
