Are there any advantages of upgrading directly (via fixed price) instead of with the plus upgrade?
other than obviously the guarantee that you will fly the upgraded class…
I wouldn't necessarily call it an advantage as the fixed price would be higher, but fixed price upgrades put you in the lowest
available booking class, whereas accepted bid upgrades put you in the lowest overall booking class of the relevant cabin, even if it has 0 availability.
