Excellent point! 💡Upgrades are priced per segment, awards are not.
No. Upgrades prices are not per segments. It’s worst than that! In op example, it’s even cheaper to upgrade per segment than the whole itinerary!
CPH-DOH return is 80K for booking class OQTN
DOH-HND return is 126K for OQTN
Total=206K but CPH-HND return is 215K !!!
I can’t explain this one, but about upgrade prices that are upper than awards, the explanation is that some years ago, QR decided to “enhance” privilege club, which means devaluate its Qmiles and then almost doubled upgrades and award prices. Then, maybe 1 or 2 years later, probably after listening it’s customers complaints, QR decided to go back to original award prices… but without reverting to original upgrade prices…
