When boarding BA528 LHR-LIS last Thursday (15/06), I spotted David Cameron in 1A. No Sam Cam but some men who seemed like aides sat in 1C and 2A,C, so presumably he was making a speech at some event there.

What was odd is that we boarded from A4, at a remote stand, and while waiting for the busses I don't recall seeing him, so presumably he was boarded separately, but the flight was also delayed, we were told this was because of a passenger taken ill on the inbound, which was also the reason why the plane was on a remote stand (and the gate agent was constantly on the phone with the dispatcher asking for updates). But thinking about it, could it have been that Cameron needed to be boarded from a car on a remote stand (for security reasons), and he was late, so they held the flight for him, and just told us that it was due to an ill pax as an excuse as to not draw attention to him?

On arrival we also parked at a remote stand, and before the busses arrived to pick the rest of us up, out the window I could see him and his entourage deboarding and getting into a minibus with a police escort, before the busses pulled up and other pax could get off, so if the process was the same (but the reverse) at LHR, it seems that they prefer having people like him at remote stands, which means the explanation that it was the "ill pax" who was the reason for that seems fishy, and if that was a lie, then that also makes the reason for the delay seem like one too.
