Actually, interesting datapoint, for the first time ever the CCC team did waitlist an LX F award for me a few weeks ago. It didn’t clear (and there was a confirmed segment in the booking so it auto-cancelled after about a week)… however, I now know that it is actually possible for them to do it. Whether it’s policy to say “no” or not, is another issue
I’m UK based but always call the +41 SEN number to get through to someone as the LH English speaking call centres in either Fiji or South Africa are generally dreadful. They’ve been super helpful so I’ve got WL bookings for about 5 days with LH now. They tried with an OS flight too, but the system wouldn’t let them. Called OS on their +43 number and said it wasn’t allowed either.
So yes, I’m just going to sit back and, er, wait!
