Well, having seen some of the international business class meals posted on AA in that forum, and comparing them to what I've seen posted in our Polaris Dining forum over here, I don't think AA is all that mediocre in comparison. Now it's hard to find anyone who can compete with JAL on food, I've literally had to drag myself off a few JAL flights after going a little overboard on the offerings, but if you keep your Polaris expectations in line with what you see posted in Polaris Dining, then you'll know what to expect.

You'll have access to the ANA and UA lounges in Tokyo (I assume you're departing NRT?), so you might want to load up on some refreshments there before boarding.....just in case. If anything, you won't be overfed on United.
