Public Service Reminder : (Please excuse the possibly obvious.) With generous retention offers it’s easy to quickly accept one (or more) and momentarily lose sight of AmEx’s 10 charge card limit and 4 5 credit card limit. I hit against one of those limits a few months ago, in part due obligated open account(s) from accepted retention offer(s), and it subsequently required (otherwise unnecessary) efforts to overturn the deleterious effect(s) of hitting that limit.
