Just a quick personal comment on awards.
In a lot of industries where word of mouth helps out against fierce competition these awards (imagine the air quotes) can actually make a difference on how a product or company is perceived (I've worked in the broadcast industry). My time with Air Canada has, for the most part, been very positive. We've all had bad or questionable experiences with just about every carrier out there - just check the posts. Companies, like people, try to game the system all the time. I'll include a link at the end (I hope it goes through) to a great little article. It's a short read and explains how airlines can work the entries for Skytrax Awards. So when Air Canada boasts about an award, good for them but take it with a grain of salt. When AC gets a bad rating, take that with a grain of salt as well. Overall Air Canada is a pretty good airline with, at times, some really great products and services. I live in Saskatchewan were we have real issues with AC and service but I still like to fly them when I can. Here's the link: https://www.godsavethepoints.com/air...kytrax-awards/
