I recall seeing a pilot job posting from Delta, where new hires would be given some level of seniority based on experience. Pilots are in demand worldwide and there are many countries/airlines which provide compensation based on experience and market demand, instead of “seniority”. Just like any other professions, if one isn’t flexible, one doesn’t have much bargaining power.
