Passenger does not have a contract for a journey from A to B with the airline. Eurowings never entered a contract to fly the passenger to BKK. They only entered a contract to fly the passenger to PRG, which they did.
They didn't - the flight was cancelled - but that's the point: they entered a contract to fly the passenger to PRG and they knew the inherent risks and liabilities of not delivering that service whereas this ruling puts them on the hook for any number of other costs because an entirely different entity did something they have no knowledge of.
