Loved your trip report though obviously don't really agree with all of your points (that is kinda obvious - it would not be a fun world if everyone agreed on everything). For instance, your take on whether it is worthwhile or not to go to Cape Town. That would obviously depend on the person - how much time and money he/she has to spend - and also on what else is being done on the trip. Honestly, it would be tough for me, for instance, to justify any international trip if I am going there to visit just one city and/or one tourist attraction. With that being the case, if you are in South Africa anyway, I would think that Cape Town would bubble to the top of the available options. Would you rather visit, say, Johannesburg or Gqeberha instead? Probably not.
However, I did wholeheartedly agree with you about folks who 'overstay' their safari limit lol. One feels jaded after a while. Hey, even though I am from Florida, after a week in some mountainous region, the monotony of the mountains lol gets fatiguing.
I do have a few questions, if you don't mind answering - please feel free to DM me if you are antsy about responding on the thread itself. What were the price points on your stay in Okavango Delta as also the bush flights etc? Were these literally in the range of thousands of dollars per person per day? I have heard a lot about this area, but we were unaware of it all when we spent a few days in Vic Falls, Zimbabwe (I have posted detailed travelogue back in 08/2018). We absolutely enjoyed Victoria Falls, and there definitely were quite a few folks the dqy when we were there.
