If I am carrying a second bag (such as a checked duffle bag), I attach it to the j-hook. The entire load balances nicely over the wheels when moving so there isn’t much force required at all.
A J-hook might work better. The times I've found a rollaboard tiring to pull was when I had a heavy backpack sitting on top of it. The higher the center of mass the more weight on your hand when you tip it.
The other plus mentioned for spinners is the ability to roll it down the aircraft aisle. Do you all not just lift your luggage while carrying it down the aisle?
I've never lifted my luggage in the aisle. Why wouldn't I be able to pull a 2-wheeler behind me?

No amount of technical quality can overcome physics. The larger the diameter the less resistance rolling over uneven surfaces. There's a tradeoff, the larger the wheels the more wasted volume in the bag. That's what limits the size of the wheels on rollaboards. but spinners are wasting a lot more space so they put much smaller diameter wheels and they hit every bump and crack much more than a larger diameter wheel would.
