It’s highly irritating for us in the pointy end however and a current bone of contention due to avoidable pressure placed on us to speed up and potentially have a totally avoidable issue/event.

Genrally whist several depts will start jumping up and down with excitement, we won’t board until we are ready and we won’t release the brakes until we are ready. The pointy end and cabin teams are not responsible for BA’s woeful man planning.

You can see an ASO on BA.com or the app via flight status, the estimated dep being ahead of the scheduled dep is the key to identify when you’ve been ‘ASO’d’.
