Airalo is a non-chinese SIM that will roam on China Unicom. Airalo's headquarters is in Singapore. My experience is that their SIM's real carriers are often in Thailand, but could be anywhere (and it is often hard to tell). Did some searching and found a reddit with the following info about Airalo in China:

I've had good experience with Airalo elsewhere. It may not be as cheap as local SIM and it doesn't have a phone number (data only), but it is very convenient to have your phone working on landing and not worry about finding one or having to wait until next morning for the stores to open near hotel.
