There are a number of transponder holders that one can but for $5 - $10 on Amazon or at an auto parts store. They use a section cup to stick to a windshield and some are compatible with the different-sized transponders that are out there.
I used one with a metal frame until I started getting missed reads from what I assume is due to the signal interference; I now use a plastic one and it works fine.
