I had a DL Amex a few years ago that’s been cancelled for at least six months. I’m not quite sure of the date of the cancellation, but I’m definitely sure that it’s been more than two years since I received the bonus for the card initially. I just tried to initiate another card and Amex tells me that I’ve received the bonus before and as such am not eligible. Is this a forever thing or a frequency thing, and if the latter, what’s the required period to wait? I’m asking because I’m fairly sure that with Chase it’s two years (I just applied for and received a bonus-offering UA Visa, which I have also had in the last several years, just more than two).
